Vaccination Information

On July 30, 2021, The American College of Obstetricians & Gynecologists (ACOG) updated their recommendations for Vaccinating Pregnant Lactating Patients Against COVID-19. They state that “All pregnant and lactating women should be offered the COVID-19 vaccine. The risk factors associated with COVID-19 disease are far greater than the potential risks of these vaccines. The CDC also released new guidelines for mask wearing for vaccinated individuals.

Based on sound evidence, GO strongly supports all birthing clients in receiving the Pfizer or Moderna vaccine during pregnancy, as well as partners, children 12 years and older, and other extended family member. In addition, the CDC and ACOG recommend pregnant people get the booster shot after 6 months of their full vaccination, regardless of where they are in their pregnancy.
