Throughout your labor and birth process, all of your care is managed by Golden Oak Midwives—at home via phone and for your entire stay at Alta Bates. 

This includes: 

• 24-hour midwifery support

• Collaborative decision-making with you and your partner

• Low intervention/expectant management of care

• Strong collaboration with your doula/labor support person

• Phone support at home in labor as needed until it’s time to head to Alta Bates

• Encouragement to move freely throughout your labor

• Hydro therapy—use of a tub or shower as labor management tool

• Intermittent fetal monitoring (vs. continuous)

• Support to eat and drink during labor

• Perineal support during crowning

• Time and space to bond with your new baby

• Breastfeeding support
